I have a 1945 dated commando beret also with WD...

I have a 1945 dated commando beret also with WD stamps...but it has an Engineer badge, not a RM...maybe in later war you could see that kind of unoficial practices..

I thought only army had WD markings...I read in the fabulous thread "WWII british berets traits and construction" that admiralty purchased items never had WD date stamps...so I assume Royal marine...

I don't think so...as I know RM berets haven't...

I don't think so...as I know RM berets haven't got WD stamps...only Army has War Department markings...But thanks for answer!!!

Hello! Recently I adquired this postwar beret. It is dark blue (I read that after war, British army introduced this colour) but I thought that was in 1950 when the blue beret arrived...but this one...
