...I cannot give you any hard info on Wild Geese badges, but in the movie of the same name, all wore their regimental badges, including Rodger Moore and Richard Burton.

As a point of reference, ebro, the "star" is referred to as a "mullet" in the badge description. It is supposed to represent a spur.
