I think the lugged badge is silver-plate & gilt...
I think the lugged badge is silver-plate & gilt as per officer standard. I think the slidered badge is a PRI one.

Ya, the lack of vent hole in the E Lancs is a bad sign, don't have a Marsh catalogue but that seems to seal it anyway. The E Yorks looks fine to me with a nice vent hole behind the rose.

The lurex started coming into use around 1982...
The lurex started coming into use around 1982 when the first cap badges came out in lurex. After that more badges and insignia progressively started coming out in lurex but I don't know exact dates....
