Canterbury Mounted Rifles (CYC) badge

Have just received this very nice CYC Cap badge. Unlike most CYC badges I have seen it is not brass but some sort of silver type material. Hopefully, this forum can provide some info on it.

Its British Colour Council Number(BCC) is BCC 219, The backing on your example looks like Royal Blue BCC 197.
