I think 4 has three letters with the middle being V probably something volunteer infantry. Its just not aligned right to have the 'Y' directly under the crown.

not a design ive seen in any of the more obvious ref books. Normally the 16 is in Arabic numerals. not in Ripley so prob before 1855 not in parkyn. would be keen to see a non dug example from someone.

well i would say your button and the screen shot of the L&WV button are not the same you don't have the & and the L on yours goes all the way across the underneath of the centre and final letter....
