He had a long career, joined the 5th Dragoon Guards in 1891, transferred to the 3rd Dragoon...

Not sure if it's the same pattern rose though.

Not a badge I'm buying, but the makers name caught my eye, couldn't see it on the 'makers marks' sub gallery, unless my eyes have deceived me!

Bought this for a couple of quid.
It's a different flame type to my others, same die as a Victorian/Edwardian looped badge I have, but this is not as good quality.
Seems a little pitted on...
