Of course it could be something as simple as the RMs wanting to maintain their individuality and Lovat seems a reasonable colour for a corps that was originally light infantry.

For those who don't know , those small white kit...

For those who don't know , those small white kit bags were known as Bags, sea kit and were issued when being trooped overseas by boat , they weren't (obviously) used when air trooping took over.

My first posting after trade training in 1959 was...

My first posting after trade training in 1959 was to the RHG and our ASM , WO1 (Pop) Howe , was the only man in the regiment that I remember wearing this badge.
