Back of plate

99% sure the backing plate is copper and without question the regiment/honours in silver or silver plated.
Is a separate piece held to the plate with multiple pins bent over to hold it in place

Auction listed as British gorget. Symbolism appears correct, a lion, an anchor, over a torse. I'm thinking pre 1796 as it is much larger than the 1796 pattern.
