I never wore a patch like that in The Third and it does look new, and it is also presented in the post upside...

What you have is an "Other Ranks" working beret (slightly mothed) that has been adapted to take a Hackle.
As stated the hackle is presented correctly with Brown Red And Green running...

Can`t comment on the wearing of the patch but I was with the Demo Sqn (A Sqn 3RTR) in the late 70`s and the Demo Battalion was a composite mix of all infantry units and I suspect Battalions...
