as I said the sewn up sides is something I have seen on caps I own or by others but the complete lack of proper buttonholes or even stitching for them is unusual in my experience and they have sewn...

Royal Engineers officers coloured FS cap

A recent arrival, RE officers coloured fs cap with bullion badge and crown piping.

an interesting example as it has no actual button holes and the sides are sewn up, the latter I have seen before...
