Just to muddy the water a little more, prior to the current bar system Pips / Stars denoting Senior Officer & Principal Officers were worn on the 'Tombstone type badge, again with the individuals...

My shield / plaque British Forces Belize from 1982, I certainly didn't see any cloth during my time. Trying to obtain a BDF cap badge took me the best part of my tour.

My home town, I had to have it.

When I saw this on an overseas website I had to have as it was from my home town, and I have never seen one for sale before, I think it is Victorian. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know.

Thankyou for all the above comments, I am not convinced that it is an unfinished 'Drummers' badge due to its size although I can see the similarities. For me the jury is still out on this one.
