I think I may have one of the CANADA titles. If I remember correctly it came in a lot purchase from Ont.

Its quite thin gauge metal. Seems almost plated. Much brighter, much more shine in person....

I would imagine the use of a non conductive substance is applied the to the badge on the areas that wouldn't be electroplated. Ive heard wax being used.

No source for this info, just anecdotal.
