I am not at all sure about this star, it looks quite poor quality. The star may be cut asymmetrically. From what I can see this looks like a star that International Militaria in NJ were selling...

IG - not collar badges, these are part of the shoulder title. The other ranks collar badge of the Irish Guards is a shamrock and you will typically only see it on full dress and mess dress.

The IG Pagri is an example of the undress sabtetache badge worn by the 4 RIDG and used by the IG for the same purpose 1900-1902. I believe yours is a modern reproduction.
