Thanks for the suggestions, certainly a similar shape and form, under a glass the two scrolls appear distinctly separate which had me confused.

Double Scroll or Chevron Cap Badge ?

Here is a postcard which has had me stumped for a while, not the clearest of images but the cap badge, to my eyes at least, appears to consist of a double scroll or chevron with a solid shape above....
