LDSH cap badge

Here is I believe is a SWW issue, the banner is different.

The first original Boer war badge is just the shield with a crown as shown in the middle of the badge, the Milart site has a nice write...

They look like IWL, with something else I cant make out, maybe a Scottish symbol.

Is he British or Canadian, the picture was found in Canada.

Also no lapel facings.

I have never seen that type of stamping before on a military badge, sometimes its the maker and a single "Canada" on more modern badges, most modern badges don't have any maker marks.

I would say CEF, used up to WW2 when they changed the horse. I have not found any resources to positively identify the CEF vs post WW1 changes.

Here is a very unusual badge that was on ebay, is it a fantasy made up badge, or did the CF actually consider this at one time. The seller stated that it was a proposed Canadian combat infantry...

Seaforth Sweethearts

Here is a couple of nice sweethearts for the Seaforth's, I tried to research the +W+ marking but had no luck. I presume its either Canadian or British made but none of the usual Sterling marking...

My rule of thumb has been no beaver, its early CEF, and if the "LORD" is missing its even earlier.
