Yes it is. Where was it found? Pre WW1 and interwar a lot of OTC summer camps were held at Tidworth Pennings on Salisbury Plain and the surrounding area.

Yes it's original. I don't have dates of manufacture but they were made in large numbers.

The 1944 plastic version which replaced it had the correct coronet.

This does rule it out as also being worn by the cadet corps...

Indeed. This badge was not worn by the Regular Bn who wore the Home Counties Brigade badge from 1958 It was worn by the TA and cadets.

As stated it was a reduced size badge worn mostly on berets...

I have now seen one of these and it is not military but a Yeovil school uniform cap badge with eyes for stitching on to a school cap worn pre 1925.
