I don't have the dates in front of me but this is the version after it was decided to change from a brass colour to a silver colour, all existing stocks of brass badges where to be 'dipped'.

It very much resembles the pattern of Aircraft used on Royal Navy badges. Normally propeller up and with a domed top.

It looks as though the WND badge has a pattern tag attached by green flat tape, this was used by the British to indicate a badge produced and sealed in England for a Commonwealth Country.

I can not seen any difference in the two Jimmies, only the crown which of course is not attached to Jimmy so can come from anywhere.

I wore a KC RA beret badge through most of the 1980s.
