Indeed, that was what struck me, no consistency...

Indeed, that was what struck me, no consistency on how it was worn, even on the same arm, as they were not "handed" which must have made it awkward for the other arm.

From what I remember seeing in period photos of the campaign in North Africa, titles and div signs not being worn was the norm. I have pics of my dad in the desert and he has none visible
