Just Phoned a silversmith, Anchor tells him that's its a Birmingham assay office, lion and W is 1946 (well done Griff) and lion and X is 1947.

Makers name is on the left JRG&S

And having now cleaned the solder of the other collar I can see Anchor lion x

I am confused aswell, the book tells us there is a large and a small silver 8 leaf collar badge, we all have the small type, and the large type ........but only the left hand one.

great news , if there is no collar badge 31mm tall, these must all be silver hallmarked or plated cap badges.All have been photo next to a 27mm collar.

Silver/Silver plated Britannia Norfolk collars

I am having some trouble working out if the Silver plated/hallmarked Britannia badges I have are beret or collars.
I am hoping the different lugs fitted could be the key, as they all face left.
