QUEENS OWN HUSSARS -SWEAT HOLES?
Looks like, some one may have altered an original die, or filed away a JR Gaunt B'ham from the slider then duly applied an ageing battering to the slider. Cheers Sean.

Looks to me, you have an original WW1 tie pin, judging by the bar mark on the cenre of the badge, that might explain the lack of detail in the casting of the badge. Cheers Sean..

This maybe of help to you, the kings crown variant is original, and I would suppose, brass stampings would be made from the same die, unless yours is from a different manufacturer. Cheers Sean.

Berkshire Yeomanry Collar?
Although well documented the collar badge worn by the Berkshire yeomanry is the star and crescent taken from the Arms of Hungerford. I believe the badge in the thumb nails to be a variation, it is...

As with many regiments, the original cap badges were found to be to large for wear in the general field service cap (large beret), so the collar badge was adopted for wear with this item of head...

4H, 13H and 15H cap badge construction.
The cap and collar of the 4th Hussars , have identical brazing holes even on the numerals. The 13th and 15th have locating tags, I think to give the correct position during brazing. Cheers Sean.
