Mike, If you look at the original ebay sale, the medal was removed from its box and a rear shot is shown. I suspect he new it was not genuine and tried to sell it off via Ebay and got caught out....

The KC AAMC came in gilding metal like your one as well as an oxidized (Blackened) version.

The QC RAAMC as far as my knowledge goes was only in gilding metal and then later in anodized aluminium....
