Your officers J&Co collars are super - as Alan says, the VDG badge was mainly worn and hence the scarcity of the officers horse badge and the price it commands.

Many thanks for info, that would explain the scarcity of the horse badge! Interesting that both early examples I have are slightly smaller than the post 1929 version.

I have this trial 26th Hussars collar badge which is gilded on the front but bronze OSD on the back. Were these gilded on the front to be worn on the FSC? Denis

15th Hussars is well made, beautiful enamel but looks too new and gilding not smooth?
W/M Lincolnshire has small crimp mark on slider but have my doubts?
