Help with image of hat badges, 12th Yeomanry and 5th Yorkshire

Hi All

I was hoping someone could help with am image of the hat badge worn by the 12th Yeomanry Cyclists Battalion and the 5th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment during WW1.

A similar example is listed as a German WW1...

A similar example is listed as a German WW1 regimental button, I thought it may have been a German epaulette numeral. Personally never seen a sewn on Australian example.

I appreciate the help. I was thinking Light Horse or Artillery due to the leggings. The photo was taken in Mt Gambier, South Australia-all soldiers are Australian.
