I wouldn't say ruined, a good honest badge that some soldier has cleaned. My personal opinion is the 'frosted' finish on the newer officer badges looks far worse than the lustre of straight silver. :)

The KC examples do turn up from time to time, they aren't all that scarce but may require some patience. They are more common than the QC I think.

NFA badge is original but as Peter says, modern....

NFA badge is original but as Peter says, modern. Been in use since 1967 and the regiment was renamed the King Cetshwayo Regiment in 2019. I don't know what badge is used now.
