Personally i don't think that you can use todays cheap throw away economics to judge whether a badge was altered for use on a cap or made into a sentimental keepsake for a proud and sometimes...

I would be more than happy to have this as it is in my collection, I doubt if it's any less secure than a slider as thats only poked through a hole in the cap and a conversion could have been done...
