The RH badge is a good one and definitely an officers badge worn in No 1 and SD hats. Subject to me checking my RH badges, I would date it between 1969 and mid 1980s. Newer badges had the gilding...

20H Badges

Can we just go easy on the personal comments please? (Gentle reminder about the purpose of the forum.) The hat and badge belonged to A Sqn 14/20H and now belong to A Sqn KRH. In 1922 A Sqn was the...

Hi. I have a black hole in my knowledge when it comes to maker marks. Can anyone help identifying a period when this FIRMIN LONDON mark was used? Many thanks!

14th Hussars Arm Badge (and a surprise!)

I recently bought a white metal 14th Hussars arm badge, as worn by Cpls and L/Sgts from 1867. Nothing particularly unusual; the sceptre had broken off at some stage and the lugs had been replaced by...

14/20H SD

Hi. Sorry no buttons for you but a couple of pointers very much offered in a friendly way! Firstly, the collar badges you currently have should be replaced by small gilt Garter badges with lions...

11H Bullion badges

In addition to wear as collar badges and NCO mess kit arm badges, the small embroidered badge was also worn on officer's crimson side hats.

Arm Badge

No problem. We are all here to help, not to criticise. And I would to be the first to admit that 14H badges are a complete minefield! Hugo

Small world. Bernard was an old family friend and my Brother's godfather! He and my father served together in the 10th - my father commanded the Regiment before Bernard. He would not have added a...

Hi. Never seen a chrome cap badge - plenty of chrome arm badges but not cap badges. As far as I am aware 14/20H never wore a chrome cap badge. They were very proud of their brass or black Hawks.

Hi Rob. Not the fixings - it is the shield. 14H did not use a brass plate for LCpls. This only came in with 14/20H. Regards, Hugo.

Tony - yours is definitely the 14/20H LCpl badge most likely from the 1930s - I have one exactly the same. Rob's badge is the 14H Cpl badge and probably dates from late 1890s - 1920. In both cases...

I have the same type of white metal/German Silver badge.

On the subject of the badge worn by KRH, I may be able to shed some light as I was involved in the discussions between the Regiments. RH...
