I have a solid brass USMC hat badge. The mark on the bottom at the back of the anchor is a ..V in a circle ..is this the makers mark or what? It was sold as WW2

How many made Royal Marines badges QC and did all of them mark their name on the back.The reason I ask I just bought a RM the seller said "made by gaunt" but it isnt marked.

In my opinion brooch back Small Rising Sun badges were used by nurses ,most were St.Sil but at different times they would use a bronze or brass badge ,this is WW1. Mostly to hold a cape on....
