My personal opinion is that it is a reproduction...

My personal opinion is that it is a reproduction mainly due to the quality of the strike & patina and the presence of prominent flanges on the loops which indicate modern fitments.

Not that badge, the brass one in the first image of the opening post. The one posted here looks to be an earlier pattern WM IG piper's star and looks OK to me.

The large GM Star of St Patrick in the first image is very likely to be a re-struck 4th D.G/ I.G undress sabretache star. A better image would help.
