Queens rown REME - brown coloured

Gents, has anyone any knowledge of this REME cap badge? Its of 'new metal' type construction, but the colour appears to be a kind of brown/bronze wash - similar to the Gibraltar Regiment colour.

If hes gine to the trouble of putting his blood type, could the long number be his service number then date of birth? The last six appear to me as 11/10/22 . . . Which would have made 'him' 17 years...

Thanks Tony - I have that backing on a badge, but this piece is much smaller (4.5cm square) - more likely an early arm badge or a piece sewn on to the desert hat or helmet cover.
