Well, he did say it was a "conservative" estimate, but, then a collector would still need to actually have the 10k to buy them in the first place, which would be a tall order for an average badge...

I think, just from the photographs, it is an original wing, but, not contemporary to the period that the Corps actually existed, I would think 1940's, you could simply buy them from your tailor.
