The picture is of a Gordon Highlander.

The Yellow stripes are even over the tartan and as an OR has the gap in the middle whereas Offcrs had a line in the centre.

Hi

I concur with the ACF wearer having served in a regular Regiment before entering Cadet service, so the medals are correct.

The Thistle collars should have the stems pointing to the neck...

The date of your doublet is shown on the label as 1947, and probably a local purchase order of 5 items.

The blue piping was standard until about 1954 when Highland Jackets were introduced -...

The second looks like a civilian pipers collar badge which I've seen.

Hi

It's the standard Regimental Flash worn by all 3 battalions in WW2.

Merrow eddings were known at that time so yours is correct. 3rd Battn had a slightly darker blue version - very slight...

The medium size badge was worn on the hair sporran and also on the general issue leather sporran c WW2

Later the smaller badge was issued for the leather sporran.

My grandson, who serves in the B+R, had a mishmash of badges on his jacket none of which seemed logical - all raggity.

I overlooked to mention that the 3rd badge [milk bottle top] had the title changed to "ELECTRICAL TYNE ENGINEERS" but still had the RE at the bottom - when they became REME.
