I don't believe its a fake either. I cant see footed lugs, and the reverse detail to me looks ok. The bit at the end of the wreath could just be a manufacturers fault. IMHO

We do know though that Battalion Staff were wearing something different to Silver cap...

I reckon its just had the Gold/Brass rubbed off....

I reckon its just had the Gold/Brass rubbed off. It looks to have been rubbed with something abrasive. Aluminium is silver in colour, anodising hardens then they add the colour.
