He was 315019 Private 16th Royal Sussex Regiment and received that badge because of wounds as shown in WO329, forth man down.

You are welcome, the entry in WO329 as mentioned earlier, third man down, he had enlisted into the Territorial Force for the duration of the war.

A quick glance at WO363 shows Charles Nimmo was a twenty one year old from Glasgow, interestingly, the receipt for your badge has also survived.

WO329 gives a Charles Nimmo who served as 93118 Private RAMC from the 12th of October 1915 until his discharge, because of sickness upon the 15th of September 1919.
