RNVR Motor Mechanic

Attached is an image of 2 RNVR CPO collar & cuff.
The collar on the left with only 1 star is something of a mystery.
Do any RN collectors have any thoughts on this.

Attached see image of the example I have had for years. Unworn, the colour of the HMS is subdued. The stitching has the appearance of interlinked chain. Also unknown vintage.
