These are also shown in Oliver Lock's book, he describes them as faded from washing and exposure to the sun. Others believe they are of WW2 Italian production.

With only one small picture of the front it is difficult to judge though I'm almost certain it is a replica given the most unusual width of the title.

I'm sure that flat bent sliders are ok too, it just makes the badge slightly more fragile.

No, it was worn by some members of the 21 and 22 independent parachute companies which allowed them to be identified as such but it did not require additional training.

Good question. I think many were if not most but SHAEF and Pathfinders for example were worn as singles.

And some of the forces in exile during WW2 also had single formation signs and shoulder...

I don't think I have ever seen an original QC cap badge in the flesh, but I'm sure they would match these stirling collar badges.
