The Coldstreamers had a rose, not a star, and no button, to my knowledge. The Irish Guards had a star with their button on it, but the style and embroidery is different than this.

Very interesting Somerset photo. Note the caps, insignia, whistles on the breast etc. Unusual that collar dogs are being worn when this was not the norm.
