Nice of you to post this, but I wonder how anyone can be fooled by these. They all look new to me.
Would be nice if you or anyone else could post examples of fake/copy Gurkha badges. But I suppose...

Yes Simon, some badges maybe good, but bad photo so hard to tell. I liked the 15 Madras but has a shiny, chrome look so don't know. I expect some of these will come up piecemeal on eBay again.

A senior collector just warned me about this lot on eBay. The sikh badges are fake..The numerals are all wrong..Some others are good though

Yes, not silver, but for the equivalent of 20 GBP in Indian rupees still a very good deal. My first Gurkha regiment badge incidentally, though i have others to the Burma-related MP units.

Hard to say Tim. May be a reinforcement or even a repair. But no signs of any breaks at the joint. I've seen this kind of thing on some Indian Cavalry badges to reinforce the lances.

Hi Piffer. This is the real thing. Kev's badge may well have been cast from such an example. Ive seen cast copies to many Indian regiments but not one to the 15th though. Always a bit iffy therefore....

No Kev, not exactly. These badges were definitely not around during the Mutiny and in the years immediately afterwards. I think the practise of Indian regiments wearing insignia such as Pagri badges...

None really scarcey. The really good one I would say is the Port Sudan which is one of my favourites. All these turn up off and on except the Frontier Constabulary which is a litte hard to come by....
