muskey:
A word of caution- although it is a helmet plate centre, the crown that should be located at 12 o`clock is not there- probably broken off and missing, therefore a broken piece.

Repo No.2 Construction ......
Bill:
What are the markers making this a fake?
It does not seem readily obvious that it is a lost mold cast badge, so what am I missing here?
Cheers,

The "P and S" you refer to represents Plaque and Scroll, items that were dispatched to the next of kin, Mrs. Beatty. Likewise, the Memorial Cross.
Hope this helps.

TORONTO SCOTTISH BACKING.....
Paul:
Correct- the tartan backing of hodden grey in my experience is always cut with pinking shears, giving the tartan a zig zag appearance, rather than being straight cut.

All:
Was wondering how many CF branches have now regained their "Royal" designations, or combined Branches that also have a "Royal" designation.
I am aware of the following-
RCE
RCEME
RCDC

For what it is worth, I would suggest that your badge is an unfinished 4th Hussars officers badge, either OSD pattern or a bi metal unfinished pattern, without overlay and without the...

IMO this is a normal COC WWI era title that has been made into a sweetheart brooch item.
The 3 can mean anything, but having a brooch back fitting only re-enforces this belief.

This collar is indeed a collar of the L & R Scottish. If I recall correctly, it was worn by both OR`s and Officers. The rear markings indicate that this collar was manufactured in 1979,...
