Hi all, I shared this on FB but thought I'd share it here as well. very happy to finally find an example and a bonus that it has the German camo used to stiffen it for ease of wear.

My highlight of the year was acquiring from an old collection a selection of Nova Scotia circa 1865 shako plate and belt plates to the Nova Scotia Militia. Lovely stuff.

Hi Paul, while Bill is correct re finish on some of the officers badges, most I've seen are two-piece with lugs or screw posts. Often the overlay is frosted silver, the star is plated or bright....

I think both are Scully made badges, made in Montreal. As far as I know, this regiment has white metal ORs badges, silver-plate for the pipe band and gilt or gold plated for the officers.
