Hi. I'm wondering if someone can help me identify this badge. It's from the British Columbia Regiment but has a different motto. Maybe a badge from the post WW1 reorganization?298980

Roden Toronto 1917 RFC Badge - Lug Question

Its seems to be an unusually high quality badge with the maker stampings applied by hand. Ok I won't question the feedback but why would a maker put a plated stamp on a badge?
