Unidentified formation patches

I hope someone may be able to help identify these. They came with a boxed set of WW2 medals ( 39-45 star,Africa star,Italy star and War medal) to a UK recipient and are from the Royal Signals medal...

I agree. It looks like a ribbon for the 1939-45 Star. As there is no War Medal 1939-45 ribbon. This was not instituted until August 1945.The ribbons were authorised for wear well before the medals...

My thats a big one RE?

XX1MC shoulder title
