Thanks for the input chaps. Yes it has a soft pewter feel to it.If it dates back to the 1800's and it belongs to HMS Battleaxe that would be great. Alas. I think that would be too much to hope for....

Thanks chaps, It was nice to see the other badges on the forum. Do any more of the members have boer war cutout badges, it would be good to see a record kept, as they are now very hard to find....
