I am struggling to identify which Corps this unit represents. My first thoughts were R.A.S.C. but cannot find any details of a 369 Coy, R.A.S.C. Could it be R.E., R.C.S. or perhaps Indian Army?

My eyes may be failing me but I cannot see Coy on the images. Could it be HQ, 369 Battery, Royal Artillery?

Apologies, the word Coy, is an assumption on my part as I could not think of any other unit, apart from Squadron, that would have such a high number.

The jacket has the date letter code O, which would suggest 1941/42 manufacture, but not necessarily issue.

Simon.

I have just found a possibility.

32nd (South Midland) Anti-Aircraft Group (13)
69th (The Royal Warwickshire Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Brigade,
Royal Artillery (14)
(H.Q., 190th, 191st, 192nd & 199th Anti-Aircraft Batteries, Royal Artillery)
40th (The Sherwood Foresters) Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Royal Engineers (15)
(H.Q., 358th, 359th, 360th & 361st Anti-Aircraft Companies, Royal Engineers)
42nd (The Robin Hoods, Sherwood Foresters) Anti-Aircraft Battalion,
Royal Engineers (16)
(H.Q., 366th, 367th, 368th & 369th Anti-Aircraft Companies, Royal Engineers)
44th (The Leicestershire Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Battalion,
Royal Engineers (17)
(H.Q., 374th, 375th, 376th & 377th Anti-Aircraft Companies, Royal Engineers)
45th (The Royal Warwickshire Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Battalion,
Royal Engineers (18)
(H.Q., 378th, 379th, 380th & 381st Anti-Aircraft Companies, Royal Engineers)

I now need to find out if they served East of Suez.

It seems that the 42nd (The Robin Hoods, Sherwood Foresters) Anti-Aircraft Battalion served in North West Europe in 1944/45.

Thanks Jerry,

I am beginning to think that I may be over thinking this. The 369 may not represent the man's unit but might be the last three numerals of his Service Number.

I know that his name was Quigley and that H.Q. is an unlikely set of initials but it may be possible.

It also seems strange to find a uniform marked in this way but that might be explained by the fact that most of the laundry in the far east was done by dhobie wallahs. Even though the D.W.s had their own remarkable system of discretely marking laundry, the owner may have marked his own kit to be sure of getting it back.
