ATS Wearing the Royal Artillery Collar Badge

I have noticed that in many of the vintage pictures of ATS girls who served with the Royal Artillery show that they wore the collars badge on their breast at an angle so the right part of the scroll, facing it, is level with the pocket line. Does anybody know why this was done?

Not a clue what you mean, the collar badge is below and only has one word on the scroll "UBIQUE".

Terry, not sure what you mean. The attached photo shows a RA collar badge aligned with a seam of the jacket. Is this what you mean??

A convenient way of wearing that badge, slit a couple of stitches in the seam for the lugs rather than make holes in the fabric.

Thank you gentlemen. Sorry for the confusion, but wasn't sure how to describe it.

Yes, Jerry, that is what I was referring to. Seems taking advantage of the uniform seam was the reason.

My reason for asking is because I wasn't sure how I should display that badge in my display case. Since there is no seam in he case I'll display it straight up and down.

Thanks all!

There is no seam in the Battle Dress Blouse.

Upright on BD but following the seam on the baggy tunic thingy?
