Internationalbd is a dodgy seller of fake badges and has been for many years,

These will be complete fake. Look at the feet of the loops.

The bidding has gone mad £160- latest.
I spoke to seller re size just in case they were arm badges , sizes are 33 X 23mm

These two had a epic bidding war over the badges from quite early on in the auction.

I don’t collect collar badges - can anyone tell me what’s so special about these?

If these are indeed fakes they’re a bloody good effort as the quality, age/patina, and loops looks pretty convincing to my untrained collar badge eyes.

Given that he has nearly 2300 feedback stats on E-Bay and, has only one negative which, was for an Item that arrived damaged. It is difficult to give credence to allegations that he he is a known purveyor of fake Badges.

It is also known that these badges are so rare and undocumented that it would not be financially viable to produce just one set, I suspect the market would be flooded with knock-off's.

Whilst not convinced myself, it has been suggested that these collars pre-date the wearing of the Austrian double headed Eagle by the KDG which, they took up in 1898 when Emperor Franz Joseph at the invitation of Queen Victoria became the Colonel in Chief of the King's Dragoon Guards

Crazy statement to make and very untrue. eBay feedback means less than nothing with respect to authenticity.

A significant proportion of buyers are uninformed and trust the description or assume originality. Positive feedback means the item merely arrived and was the one advertised.

No, not the seller just sceptical of the allegation. One would suppose that if he were indeed a well known seller of fakes that his feedback would be riddled with negative and neutral feedback after all, not all buyers on eBay are uniformed.

My first post however, I have been a member for some years but, I have had nothing to contribute.
