RAMC - Recent Finds

I thought I'd post these three RAMC badges which managed to find their way into my collection over the past couple of weeks.

Having never seen one close-up before, I found the integral strengtheners to the reverse of the pastic badge of interest:

This Gaunt-marked, officers' badge was a nice, unexpected find:

Would I be correct in thinking that the all-g/m example is pre-WW2, though not an 'economy' badge?:

Peter.

Peter I am pretty sure that RAMC badges post 1950 were bi metal with the motto 'IN ARDIUS FIDELIS' so your all GM badge would be pre 1950.
I think.
Waiting to be shot down in flames Tony.

Thanks, Tony.

I've just had a look in Gaylor, which backs up what you're saying, in that post-WW2, the badge was issued with a w/m scroll bearing the words, 'In Arduis Fidelis'.

We'd both better keep our heads low now :D.

Peter thanks for showing your badges, particularily the plastic one. The form of strengthening is new to me.
Attached my plastic RAMC badge, with a different form of strengthening. There is also a plastic badge with a smooth unstrengthened reverse. All three made by A.Stanley & Sons Walsall.

Rgds,
Thomas.

Thomas,

Thanks for adding this variation to the thread - great to see it and another version to look out for.

As I mentioned in my opening post; before acquiring my plastic RAMC, I was unaware of these strengtheners. Seeing your example makes me wonder if there could be other types as well.

All fascinating stuff.

Thanks again,

Peter.
