Has anyone heard of a Helmet Plate Manufacturer," Keaton "of Birmingham around the time of the Boer War , can anyone Identify this plate they made ,not very clear photo copied from auction catalogue

The images in this particular auction are really poor, I was looking at some other lots! (Link here to original listing for this plate). Having looked I am sorry - can't find anything on this manufacturer at all.

It is not a military Helmet Plate, thats 100% certain.
Its the Royal Arms of Queen Victoria found applied to all sorts of items, in this case possibly a safe door. You have posted this twice so I have replied on both regards |
Hi, I am going to back up simons comments, as I feel the same, but would like to see the back. These plates can often be found on old music players, the type that used a round brass tube with indents on it.

Well done
(apart from that I wouldn't buy anything I couldn't see - at least two of the 'Liverpool Collection' are fakes) |
That particular auction house hasnt a clue on military headdress badges. I have been in touch with them on numerous occasions. I would be aware of what you buy from them.
