Fake Cardiff pals
Another terrible fake from Chairborne Militaria
With thanks and credit to 41st, who's thread on the Cardiff battalions is well worth looking at: The linked badge is: 1) NOT Cardiff Pals, that was the 11th Battalion 2) NOT even a cap badge, this style was a collar https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW1-Cardi...AAAOSwVqlc5YYw 41st's thread: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...t=cardiff+pals Cheers, Tim |
Tim,
it is indeed a bad fake. how low can this seller go....he at one time had a good reputation, long gone. |
Seller states "If there are any obvious faults I will always do my best to point them out"
|
As my school Maths teacher often said to me "seems your best is not good enough..."
Such a shame to see dealers lose all credibility and trust. Selling a badge that turns out to be no good, is vastly different from selling clear and obvious fakes. I would hesitate to buy any badges from him now, because for me, helping his business is counterproductive to the hobby. Cheers, Tim |

Buyer beware:
Lockdales offering the classic and well documented Birmingham Pals fake in their July auction Note the easiest and quickest way to tell: The collar around the neck contains no 'Jewels' Attached is how the collar should look, for all 3 battalions. Sad as it’s the very obvious ‘common’ fake. Their next lot - Lot 100 - BADGE A BORDER REGIMENT 11TH LONSDALE BN CAP BADGE WITH GAUNT MAKERS PLAQUE is also a fake!!! Cheers, Luke |
Thanks for that Luke, I saw it, and sadly just assumed it would be. Good to have it confirmed
