Hi All
Any help with the following picture would be much appreciated Thought to be my Grand Father Cecil Gammon DofB 30 Nov 1902 Died 1976 So just after World War 1 Regards Ian |
Ian
He is wearing a bandolier so is mounted but there were horses in many regiments and Corps. The universal grenades that he wearing as collars could be Royal Artillery and that would match the white lanyard. They were also used by RE and some Fusiliers regiments. The shoulder title would narrow it down and as it is curved does not appear to be RA or RE The other option is that he is in a Yeomanry regiment that re-roled to RA post WW1. However the Yeomanry s/t were generally larger. Alan |
