1st Pattern Observer Corps Officer Badge - Except its Not
 

I've been watching this one on ebay for a while, listed as a "World War Two Royal Observer Corps ROC Soldiers Gilt Metal Uniform Badge". However, this is not a 1st Pattern OC Officer's badge which potentially it could be mistaken for, rather it is the metal part of an officers padded cap badge so at the very least its an incomplete badge. Is it WW2? it's certainly post 1941 but without having it hand its hard to judge.
